Kiley and Marco’s wedding felt extra special for me. I’ve known these two for a while now and have gotten to photograph them more than once along the way, so this wasn’t walking into a wedding and getting to know a couple. I already knew them. I already knew how sweet they are together, how easy they are to photograph, and that the way Marco looks at Kiley would probably get me at least 400 times throughout the day. And it did. 😂 SWOON.

This day was just incredibly beautiful. Every detail felt thoughtful, everything was elegant but fun, and they had the BEST group of people around them. Their families were wonderful. Their friends were incredible. Their vendor team absolutely killed it. It was a day where I kept looking around thinking, yep, THIS. This is what I hope for my couples.

I loved getting to spend the beginning of the day with Kiley, her mom and her sisters. And then I found out the robe she was wearing had been made using pieces of her mom’s wedding dress?! 😭 I mean. How freaking special. Her first look with her dad was another one that got me, and I loved that they asked their grandparents to sign their marriage license as their witnesses. There were just so many little pieces of family woven into the day.

We did have a little rain, but it's only fair because no wedding day should be as perfect as this one was. 😂 But it passed and the evening afterward was SO gorgeous. One of those times where you walk outside after the rain and everything just feels frest. And I think after watching the weather and waiting it out, getting that beautiful evening felt even better.

Then there were the speeches. Kiley’s sisters gave toasts AND RAPPED, which I feel like deserves its own mention. 😂👏🏻 The best man’s speech was hilarious. The gelato cart was a massive hit. Everyone was having fun. There was just so much GOOD happening all at once.

But when I sat down to think about what I wanted to say about this wedding, none of those things were really THE thing.

It’s Kiley and Marco.

Getting to watch them have this day after photographing other pieces of their life together was just really amazing. They are such a perfect match. They laugh together, they’re comfortable together, and Marco looks at Kiley like she is the only person in the room even when there are literally a hundred other people around them. I caught it over and over again.

I think that’s why I loved this wedding so much. It wasn’t just gorgeous, although OH MY GOSH it was. It wasn’t just a great party or perfect details or a really fun group of people. I got to watch two people I already genuinely adore have one of the biggest days of their story, surrounded by a whole lot of people who adore them too.

And getting invited back again and again to document these pieces of their life? That will never be lost on me.

Kiley and Marco, I love you guys. I’m so incredibly happy for you, and I’m really freaking grateful I got to be there for this one. 🤍
