Lauren + Brandon’s wedding was one I had been looking forward to for a LONG time.
I’ve photographed Lauren’s family before, including her brother’s wedding, along with family friends over the years, so walking into this one and seeing so many familiar faces immediately made it feel extra special. I already knew and loved so many of their people, and I could not have been more excited that it was finally Lauren + B’s turn. 🥹
And truly, I don’t think they could have planned a wedding that fit them any better.
They wanted the day to be about having all of their favorite people together and making sure everyone had an amazing time, so they did the whole thing at Lauren’s mom’s house. I mean COME ON.
It was personal and relaxed and FUN. Everyone was comfortable, everyone was having a good time, and Lauren + Brandon spent the day doing what they seem to do best...laughing together. 😂 These two are just so incredibly easy with each other. There’s no trying too hard or taking themselves too seriously. They laugh constantly, they clearly like being together, and photographing them feels like you’re just following two best friends around who also happen to be very much in love.
And then there was the sunset.
For most of the evening I thought we just weren’t going to get much of one, which happens. No big deal. And then suddenly the sun dropped low enough and turned into the most INSANE sky I think I have ever seen.
I think what I loved most about this wedding, though, was getting to see Lauren have this day with people I’ve gotten to know through my camera over the years. I’ve been there for other celebrations in this family, and getting to come back, see everyone again, and now photograph Lauren marrying the person who could not possibly fit her any better was really freaking cool.
Lauren + B, I love you guys. I love how much you laugh together, how comfortable you are together, and how obvious it is that you just have FUN doing life together. After waiting so long for this day, I’m so happy I got to be there for it. 🤍
