Some weddings feel less like a production and more like a gathering.
Jessica and Troy's wedding was one of those.
It was intimate, meaningful, emotional at times, funny at others, and centered around the people who matter most to them.
As I was going through images to pick their sneak peek out, I kept thinking about how different every love story is.
Some couples meet young and grow up together. Some find each other later. Some arrive at their wedding day carrying decades of experiences, memories, family traditions, loss, heartbreak, joy, and all the things that make us who we are.
Jessica and Troy's story has a lot of layers to it.
This wasn't a wedding built around perfection or performance. It wasn't about pretending life has always been easy or straightforward.
It was about two people choosing each other.
It was about bringing together the people closest to them and celebrating something beautiful. Celebrating love.
There were tears during the ceremony. There was laughter throughout the day. There were quiet moments and joyful moments and plenty of moments that are exactly why I love photographing weddings. And that first dance?! Wow...the MOST beautiful.
The more time goes on, the more I appreciate these wedding days.
Not because they're extravagant.
Because they remind me that throughout life, there is always room for joy.
Jessica and Troy, thank you for trusting me with such an important day. It was an honor to capture this part of your story.
