Faith + Bryton | Private Residence | Carleton, MI

Meeting a couple for the first time on their actual wedding day is always a little nerve-wracking for me. There's no engagement session to get comfortable with each other, no chance to figure out how they interact. You just show up and hope everything clicks.

But the second I walked in and met Faith (just minutes before the I-do's), I knew it was going to be fine. She's just one of those people who makes you feel comfortable immediately. And Bryton? Total goofball. I loved watching him interact with everyone throughout the day - he kept things light and fun while still being present for all the important moments. These two are genuinely kind and sweet people, and I felt really grateful to be documenting their celebration.

What stood out to me most was how personal everything felt. They chose to get married at their home, surrounded by their closest people, with thoughtful touches everywhere that reflected who they are as a couple.

Faith was remarkably easy-going throughout the entire day. I never once saw her stressed or worried about timeline or details. She just moved through each moment enjoying herself and being fully present. That's actually pretty rare, and it made such a difference in how the whole day felt.

Their wedding party was fantastic. You could tell immediately that these weren't just people filling traditional roles - these were the friends who have actually been there through the ups and downs. The way they rallied around Faith and Bryton, the inside jokes, the genuine excitement - it all felt really authentic.

The family toasts during the reception were incredibly touching. So genuine and heartfelt. I definitely got a little teary behind my camera more than once. You could hear the love and pride in every word, and it was beautiful to witness.

And then the party started, and wow. This group absolutely knows how to celebrate. We're talking Jell-O shots being passed around on the dance floor and an epic dance battle that had everyone gathered around cheering. The energy was incredible and they held nothing back.

Photographing at their home added something really special to the day. These weren't just pretty backdrops - these were the actual spaces where they live their life together. Their yard, their house, the places where their story is happening. That adds meaning to every photo in a way that a traditional venue just can't replicate.

This is one of those weddings I'll think about for a while. Not just because the party was amazing (though it really was), but because Faith and Bryton made me feel completely welcome despite having just met. They trusted me to capture one of the most important days of their lives, and that trust meant everything.

Thank you for being so warm and welcoming, Faith and Bryton. Your day was such a blast to photograph, and I hope these photos capture even a fraction of how much fun everyone had celebrating you two.
