I always wonder before a wedding day what a couple is really going to be like.
We've emailed, we've planned, we've talked through timelines...but you don't really know someone until you've spent hours together on one of the biggest days of their life.
Emily and Charlie made me feel like I'd known them forever. Seriously. By the end of the night I was ready to invite Emily over for a craft night and make her my
newest best friend.
They are just good people. Kind. Easy to be around. The kind of people who make everyone else feel comfortable too. And their whole wedding day felt like that.
Nothing felt rushed or overcomplicated. It was just a really beautiful day centered around two people who were so excited to be married.
One of the things that stood out to me most was how important their faith is to them. It wasn't something added into the ceremony because it felt expected. It was woven through the entire day because it's simply part of who they are. Every prayer, every reading, every word spoken during the ceremony felt personal and intentional.
It fit them perfectly.
One of my favorite parts of the day was watching their kids. There were so many little moments where you could see this wasn't just the beginning of a marriage. It was the coming together of a family.
Andddd…I finally got to photograph a wedding in Strong Root’s new space. I love this venue, but seeing the new building and all the updates in person was so much fun! You can tell every decision was made by people who really understand weddings. They thought of everything, and it made the entire day flow so well.
The weather even decided to cooperate.
The smoke finally lifted enough for us to enjoy being outside, the rain held off, and we were able to sneak around the property for portraits! Honestly, I don't think we could have asked for a better day.
By the end of the night I realized I'd spent most of the day smiling. Not because something big was happening every five minutes. Because everyone there seemed genuinely happy.
Happy for Emily.
Happy for Charlie.
Happy for their kids.
Happy to watch this family begin a new chapter together.
These are my favorite weddings.
Because you leave feeling like you got to witness something really good.
Emily and Charlie, thank you for trusting me with such an important day. I walked in hoping we'd click, and I walked out wishing we had another excuse to hang out.
Congratulations to all four of you. I couldn't be happier for your beautiful family.
