I’ve been looking forward to this wedding for a while. Not because I knew it would be the most beautiful beach wedding, although Lake Michigan in June is definitely not something I’ll complain about. But, it was because it was Madison and Travis.

I have photographed these two enough that it felt like I was walking into a friend’s wedding, seeing people I genuinely care about, people that I’ve watched grow through many different seasons, and finally getting to celebrate their wedding day.

I absolutely love photographing Madison, she’s one of those people who just says yes, trusts me, never makes me work to convince her and never worries about how she looks. She just fully trusts and goes all in. And together with Travis, who just looks at her like she’s the only girl in the world, it’s unfair how easy my job is.

South Haven absolutely showed off for them. The beach ceremony was gorgeous. The weather couldn’t have been better. Everything just worked. I know how much planning goes into a wedding day so when one unfolds a smoothly as their day did, it feels like magic. There were moments of excitement, anticipation, emotion, fun, laughs, and just genuine love.

The best part of this day, though, was getting to celebrate it with them and their sweet baby boy Wrenley. One day he’s going to see these pictures and he’ll know exactly how that day felt. How excited everyone was for his mom and dad. How loved they are. This might be one of my favorite things about wedding photography, so much of what we remember is the big stuff, and pictures help us remember the feelings too.

Madison and Travis, thank you for continuing to invite me back into your lives. It has honestly been such a privilege watching your story unfold, your day could not have been more perfect.
